COMME des GARCONS HOMME PLUS is the first and only men's line designed by Rei Kawakubo, who launched it in 1984 after deciding to participate in the Paris Collections. This is that embroidered long jacket from the Paris collection for 2019AW. 2019AW focused more on darkness than usual. While black was the main focus, the bold patternmaking while using various materials such as wool, satin, and mesh fascinated many people.
The design is a tailored jacket with a shawl collar, no buttons, and a drawcord design on the back. The shoulder and body widths are generous, giving it a loose and rugged feel. The red, white, and green threads are used to create a floral pattern that seems to emerge from the fabric, and the presence of black correctly makes it look like a gorgeous flower is floating.
