Notice Regarding Orders Bound for U.S. Territories

Thank you for shopping with us.

【Notice to Customers Residing in the United States】

Due to recent revisions in U.S. trade policy, changes to the customs duty system are expected to take effect within U.S. territories. Accordingly, we would like to provide the following information for our customers residing in the affected regions.

Until now, under the "De Minimis Exemption," goods valued at under USD 800 were exempt from customs duties. However, the U.S. government is currently reviewing this exemption. As a result, even goods valued under USD 800 may no longer qualify for the exemption if deemed "Made in China" by U.S. Customs, potentially resulting in high tariffs.

Some of the pre-owned items we sell are manufactured in China. Please note that even brands originating from Japan may have products manufactured outside of Japan, including at factories in China.

Therefore, if a product is classified as "Made in China" by U.S. Customs, additional duties or fees may be charged upon delivery. We kindly ask for your understanding.

【Expected Changes】

■Effective Date
These changes are expected to apply to shipments received on or after May 2, 2025.

■Applicable Products
Items manufactured in China may become ineligible for the De Minimis Exemption, even if their value is under USD 800.

■Additional Tariffs
Depending on the product category, additional tariffs of up to 145% or more may be imposed.

※Please note that final decisions regarding duties and exemptions are made by U.S. Customs. We are unable to confirm whether a specific item will be subject to additional fees prior to shipment. Thank you for your understanding.

【Applicable Regions】

■United States of America (USA)

【Request to Our Customers】

Due to these changes, we kindly ask that you check the customs regulations of your region prior to placing an order.

Please note that any customs duties, import taxes, or clearance fees are the sole responsibility of the customer.
As stated throughout our website, all customs duties must be borne by the purchaser.

Please also be advised that we do not accept order cancellations or package refusals due to customs duties.

When placing an order, please be prepared for potential additional charges and ensure that you are able to complete payment and accept delivery.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

【Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on Customs and Duties】

Q1: Why are customs duties charged?
→ Under U.S. law, imports from overseas are subject to customs duties. Starting May 2025, Chinese-manufactured goods may no longer qualify for the De Minimis Exemption.

Q2: Who is responsible for paying the customs duties?
→ The recipient (customer) is responsible for paying any customs duties upon delivery.

Q3: Why is the product considered "Made in China" even though it ships from Japan?
→ U.S. Customs determines duties based on the country of manufacture, not the country of shipment. If the product was manufactured in China, it will be classified as "Made in China."

Q4: Can you tell me the amount of duties in advance?
→ Customs duties are determined by U.S. Customs based on product value, description, origin, and classification (HS code), so we are unable to provide exact amounts beforehand.
